Services for Verna Elizabeth Nelson, 98, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was a member and Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir for 50 years. The Rev. Stephen Wood will officiate. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Assisted Living.
She was a school teacher and retired from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Surviving are one daughter, Sondra Folson of Paducah; two sons, Tom Nelson of Paducah and Don Nelson of Kalamazoo, Mich.; eight
