Virginia B. Hancock, 92, of Paducah passed away at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.
She was a member of Southland Baptist Temple, a lifetime member of the Baptist Auxiliary and an avid bowler at Cardinal Lanes.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by one son, Edwin M. Hancock and wife Barbara of Paducah; one daughter, Betty Park and husband J.M. of Paducah; five grandchildren, Charles Hancock of Atlanta, David M. Hancock of Paducah, Debbie Park Riley and husband John of Paducah, Ginny Hutson and husband Chris of Paducah, and John Park II; five great-grandchildren, Derrick Riley of Lexington, Amy Riley of Paducah, Caroline Hutson of Paducah, Will Hutson of Paducah, and Zachary Thompson of Paducah; and one nephew, Don Wood of Paducah.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-six years, Edwin L. Hancock; her parents, Everit and Leona Bridges; two brothers, Brooks Bridges and Barton Bridges; and two sisters, Dora Wood and an infant sister.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Council officiating.
There will be no visitation. Roth Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
