Walter W. Larson, 92, of Paducah died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at the Calvert City Convalescent Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Larson will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2009, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Born in Washburn, North Dakota, he was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church. Mr. Larson was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having fought in several major battles in Europe. He had been a supervisor for Crawford Construction and was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union No. 357.
Mr. Larson is survived by a son, Dewey W. Larson of Reidland. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Amber Sue Larson Guess, Sarah Elizabeth Larson Campbell and Adam Wallace Larson, all of Reidland, and one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Marie Guess.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Caffey Larson; four sisters; and two brothers. His parents were Lewis Issac Larson and Hattie Eckland Larson.
Friends may call from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
